Our founder

Uchenna Moka-Solana

Most organizations don't have a technology problem. They have an operating problem that technology gets blamed for.

I founded MokSol Impact to help government agencies, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations close the gap between what they exist to do and how they actually work. We are business strategists who happen to be technology experts. We start with what an organization is trying to accomplish and who it is accountable to, then figure out what structures, processes, and people need to change to get there. Technology is the last question, not the first.

The pattern across nearly twenty years of this work is always the same: the mission is clear, the people are talented, but somewhere between the strategy and the delivery, things break down. MokSol was built on finding those breakdowns and redesigning how the work flows.

That experience includes serving as Acting Executive Director of 18F at GSA, leading over 150 cross-functional technologists and a $32M federal portfolio through a pandemic and a presidential transition, where the team achieved full cost recoverability for the first time in five years. It includes leading the modernization of the DOJ Civil Rights Division's public complaint process, work that earned the Division's highest recognition. It includes serving as the first CTO at Color of Change, the nation's largest online racial justice organization, rebuilding the technology function and driving cross-departmental alignment around a shared strategic framework. And it includes co-founding and scaling ThoughtWorks' Pan-African operations across Johannesburg and Kampala, growing diverse technical teams to over 200 consultants and delivering transformation programs for clients across four continents.

Today, MokSol partners with state agencies redesigning how they buy and govern technology, nonprofits navigating financial sustainability, clean energy programs scaling statewide operations, and executives stepping into leadership roles that didn't exist before them. The work takes the shape of organizational transformation, digital procurement strategy, agile program delivery, interim technology leadership, and executive coaching. What connects all of it is making complex organizations function for the missions and communities they exist to serve.

I trained as a biomedical engineer at Northwestern, with research in diabetes at the University of Chicago's Pritzker School of Medicine. That engineering instinct, understand how a complex system actually works before you redesign it, still shapes every engagement.

We are small by design and senior by default. The people you meet are the people who do the work.

If you are at a moment that matters, scaling, modernizing, or rethinking how your organization delivers on its mission, we'd welcome the conversation.
